A Chartered Librarian of Nigeria (CLN) and respected traditional chieftaincy title holder, John has worked in some of Nigeria’s prestigious establishments and institutions. Starting his career as the Polytechnic Librarian of the Plateau State Polytechnic between 1981 to 1991. John then had a short stint as the Secretary to Nassarawa-Eggon Local Government Council from 1992 to 1993 and Assistant Director of the National Productivity Centre Abuja between 1996 to 1997. John went on to work as the Institute Librarian of the National Judicial Institute Abuja between 1997 to 2010 followed by the National Intelligence Agency Abuja where he worked as a Consultant Librarian from 2011 to 2016. During his working career, John served as President of the Nigerian Association of Law Libraries from 2005 – 2009.

He currently serves as a member of the Eggon Council of Elders and is a holder of several chieftaincy titles including Okun Amu of Akun Chiefdom, Aren Engla of Wulko and Ase Ewu of Ende.

John holds a Diploma in Library Studies from the University of Ibadan, a BSc in Education as well as an Master of Library Science (MLS) from Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind., USA.
